Biography
Smitha Vidi, M.D., is a nephrologist at Children’s Health℠ and Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern who specializes in caring for children with kidney disease. Dr. Vidi’s clinical interests include the treatment and management of high blood pressure, kidney disorders like glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, chronic kidney disease (CKD) and dialysis.
She earned her medical degree from Madras Medical College in India. Dr. Vidi was a research fellow and completed her pediatric residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She completed her fellowship training in pediatric nephrology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Vidi enjoys teaching physicians in training and directs the Fellowship Program in the division of pediatric nephrology. She has developed several curriculums for educating residents and fellows.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids outside of work.
